The death toll of a train crash in India that killed hundreds of people is expected to rise as investigators search through the wreckage. Nearly 1,000 people were injured in the crash. NBC News’ Meagan Fitzgerald reports.

Yeah so many train derailments.. I’m never hopping on one soon 🤦🏾♂️
This is really sad unfortunately the train was overpacked and this is not new to them. It is common for them to pack up vehicles like a clown car. On top of that they drive very fast and reckless this was completely preventable. 😢

On average there are 3 train derailments EVERY DAY in India! over the last decade.
This is NOT an unexpected outcome to an industry that completely ignores almost ALL maintenance requirements as well as ANY minimum common sense safety standards.
Americans shouldn't be too smug with our average of 2 derailments every week in the U.S.
