I can’t believe that Americans are going to have to roll over and take this dirty deal. I could kick Biden and the Dems for not raising the debt ceiling before the midterms. Now regular folks and the environment are going to have to pay the price.
These people do not deserve to be in charge of anything outside their own personal private Idaho’s.

The US debt to gross domestic product ratio is no way out of line with others like France, Canada, Spain, and forget Japan, they owe and owe big, over double what they make in a year. Hakeem Jeffries boasted last night after the debt ceiling bill passed 314 yeas and 117 nea's. He made comments to the effect that democrats had taken back the house because of their 165 votes (Dems) vs republicans 149 showing the bill to pass with 314 votes. But these votes were possible because the clock went into overtime.
At the moment the clock ran to 0:00 the votes were: Republicans: 135, Democrats: 98 = 233 votes. Two hundred and eighteen votes were needed for this to pass. So in essence this bill passed with a majority of Republican votes. The Democrats piled on the votes after the clock ran out for boasting purposes and nothing more. Republicans are still in the majority.
