Investigators are now piecing through the remains of a private aircraft that crashed on Sunday in Virginia. As the plane approached restricted Washington, D.C. airspace, six fighter jets were scrambled to intervene, but the pilot was slumped over and unresponsive. NBC News’ Tom Costello reports.

I’m not a pilot nor do I know anything about it really but what could the jets possibly do other than watch it crash? Maybe I’m wrong but shouldn’t certain personnel be able to maybe take control of an airplane almost like remote control if something like this happens. I always said at air traffic control maybe there’s like an area that can remote access the controls in emergencies to safely land a plane or something in the event of high jacking or someone not responding etc.
Like military has drone pilots make the same thing for emergencies in regular aircraft’s. Maybe this would create hijacking easier through remote access I don’t know. Just a thought
