Chris was very close to dying, and without family nearby. That scares anybody!! This campaign is a big F U to Trump and the fringe Republicans. He will get the nomination because he will bring a strong personality into the mix, which is something the Republicans like. Chris has class and intelligence behind him to win the nomination. Then, for the general election, he is going to gain all of the Democratic votes because he makes sense. and he's more in the middle. He understands where we need to go. The question is whether or not he can get us there.
We need to stop arguing for the sake of arguing. Let's compromise when we need to and bring us back together to be stronger. Get off the fringes, left or right! He has a great analogy using "Big vs. Small" and you no Trump will attack that. Oh, wait, he already did, lol. Christie knows exactly what Trump will do with whatever he says, so he will say things to goat Donald into his race, not Donald's race.
Calling a draft dodger combat ready is insulting
It will not work. If the debates turn into yelling contests between Chris Christie and Trump, Trump will win. It will also tend to bury any republican candidate that isn't trump for lack of attention. People still don't understand. If Trump becomes the center of attention and the subject of conversation in debates/media/etc, Trump mostly tends to win.

as a 70yo progressive Democrat in PA, there is a lot I don’t like about Christie but he sounds more like a genuine Republican with more mainstream ideas and I don’t think he will pardon anyone
I will say this about Chris Christie. He’s a joke like most of these Republicans. They all and I do mean. ALL fell in line behind Donald Trump when it was necessary. This is the same man that literally was his debate coach. He was Donald Trump‘s debate coach for the 2020 election. He wasn’t saying sir you can’t do this, sir you can’t say that, sir that’s not how presidents behave. He wasn’t saying that then he was buddy buddy he was friends they were pals. He’s only doing this now because he wants to win an election, not himself he knows he can’t win if you run for President of the United States, but he wants to make sure the republican party can win an election. It’s a bigger symptom of the republican party. They were unwilling to cast Donald Trump to decide when they should half before he was the nominee in 2016 they would not get rid of him. He made headlines for Republicans. That got them a presidency. They were happy I kept making headlines and doing things you really shouldn’t do but they kept looking the other way. Now he is firmly cemented in the base 45%. That’s a lot. Now they have to figure out. How do you stop the monster that you helped breathe life into. How do you stop the monster that you helped resuscitate. How do you stop the monster that you actually encouraged on. especially when any other time you should’ve stood up and stopped this monster you didn’t. During the first impeachment hearing you didn’t stand up. Where was Chris Christie then. What about that second impeachment hearing if you disagree with the first impeachment what about the second one for January 6. The one where you could’ve at least made a statement. They all behaved like Mitch McConnell and voted no. Then they said OK he’ll fade off into the sunset. He did it. All throughout the man’s presidency when he praised Vladimir Putin, they said nothing when he praised North Korea’s dictator nothing when he praised China’s dictator nothing again. These Republicans were spineless then, and they only try and act as if they have a spine now because they know he isn’t the best choice to win an election. It’s not that they care whether or not he’s elected president or not. It’s just I don’t think he can win. when you have a political party behaving that way and they don’t truly have an identity of their own that’s when they’re in trouble and Republicans are in trouble not is a party necessarily but as a brand overall, what do they truly stand for? I honestly can’t tell you.
