Susan Louise Lorincz, 58, was arrested on charges of manslaughter, culpable negligence, battery and assault in the fatal shooting of Ajike “AJ” Owens, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Something feels off in the details which is why I think she got a manslaughter charge as ot may have been harassment that was escalated.

There's two sides to every story, I think there's more to this. First off, Ajike ultimately went over there to start a confrontation. Now she had a right to be upset, most people are quite protective of their children but I highly doubt Ajike calmly walked over, softly knocked on the door and politely requested to speak to Susan. I'm willing to bet she marched over all irate, probably banged on the door and was yelling and cussing through the door, escalating the situation, while trying to get the old woman to come outside so she can potentially get physical.
Also the average pair of roller skates weigh 3 – 5 kg, or 6.6 – 11 pounds. I have a hard time believing an out of shape 58 year-old woman can throw nearly 10 pound shoes all the way through her yard and across the neighboring property at a child. She would likely have trouble throwing 10 pounds across a bedroom. Assuming she did actually throw them, I can't imagine a world where they would ever have actually hit the child.
Finally where did she get the roller skates? Did she potentially damage her own skates throwing them OR (more plausible) were they accidentally left on her property by the children when they were playing on it? I'm willing to bet the children were coming onto her property as well. This would also explain (not justify) why she was upset with the children in the first place.
Either way the woman is most certainly guilty. She should have just called police if she was that scared but I don't believe this case is as black and white as they're making it out to be. Just wait and see.
I really hope she gets a very stiff sentence. She belongs in jail. Lunatics with guns.
