To be honest, that was a very open ended farewell to the character. Ash/Satoshi will still likely show up again in the future.
So, it's not really a goodbye. But a "See you when I see you" situation.
Thank you to all voice actresses who played him, though. Without them, Ash would not have been as iconic through these many years.
The fact that in the banner they're using the pokemon GO icon over and over again
In the first episode, which aired in April 1997, he was 10 years, 10 months, 10 days. So he would be born in 1986, not 1987.

She may not have been part of ash's life for a while but it's not fair that Veronica Taylor is being left out of the farewell tour.
Thank you Sarah, for this experience, I started with Pokemon in 2007 and words cannot say how much this character has inspired me to keep moving forward. I may have my low points but Ash taught me even in your low points or struggles keep fighting for that goal.
