It is the way for Google to constructively dismiss their employees, seems they are under pressure to cut costs. Stand your grounds, don't give in. Flexible working/working remotely has always been there, pandemic has only accelerated the worldwide adoption – remote work or flavoures of it, is the future.

Companies are trying to justify paying the rent on commercial property by having people work in office 3 day a week, but the problem now is people never figured to have to come back to in office work and either moved out of the state to save money or had to cars for them to go to work and now only have one.
What’s the point of sitting in an office with micromanaging people when you can work efficiently and peaceful at home or elsewhere

Why is it so bad to work from home? Is it justify the company’s expensive office building lease?
Skyscrapers were sitting empty before the pandemic.
They want people back is because it’s hurting the real estate market/ investors and are losing sales from corporate buildings because most people can do the exact same from the comfort of home.
My prediction. Workers will not comply and resign. I say about 30% of the current workers will comply. People that flocked away from cities will be stuck between a rock and a hard place. They will either go back or resign and find a lower salary job because they have new residency in a lower cost of living city/state.
Next AI companies will continue to pump R+D heavily and eventually be able to replace most workers that non compliant to fill the vacant roles. This AI story will happen regardless but will be expedited due to the mass resignation and need to fill the vacant jobs quickly. End of prediction.
Don't work people it's not worth it anymore. The amount you have spend on commute , food and high TAX it's not worth to work anymore for a penny.

It’s amazing that companies are so dead set in wasting, not only their money and time by forcing the concept of “offices,” but also by encouraging stress, wasted time, and secondary pollution, in forcing people to be physically present when they don’t have to be.
Solve the crime issues first! Then we'll gladly commute without being shot at and being mugged and being beaten!
If a job requires me to commute back and forth to the office everyday I would quit on the spot. There are things that are no longer negotiable, at least for me.

I don't understand why it has to be a one size fits all solution.
They know that the employees that have not returned don’t want to and when they don’t comply they will say they are no shows…this is the mechanism to terminate them from their payroll !
