The state supreme court had already done the right thing by voting down the very transparent attempt by (who else? ..) the Republican majority in the state to rob the power of non white voters by breaking apart those few geographic areas where the voters elect a Democratic representative.
By “redrawing” the district map to divide up its voters and then reassign them amongst numerous Republican districts … it ensures that a Republican forever occupies that seat no matter what kind of a moron runs for that seat … a moron like Margie Taylor Greene or a monkey or an orangutan as long as there’s an R after their name (or on their crate)
Some who call them safe districts know that the opposite is true. Because never again will that original geographical area have the concentration of voters it deserves to elect a leader who is in fact representative of its citizens.

Alabama has only one Dem Representative in the House. Her name is Terri Sewell and she's a black woman representing a much of Alabama's black belt. If her district were to be dissolved, she would likely lose her seat and that district would lose representation in congress. If the republicans want Black Belt voters, they need to change their politics to reflect the people of that district.
