The city's changing economy? The entire city is plagued by homeless, open drug use, trash, used syringes everywhere, crime and empty stores. RIP SF.
Capitalism is the reason businesses are shuttering in SF. These property companies make MORE money with giant tax breaks, when they have empty store fronts, than they do when they can't lease out their property for INSANE rates. And here's what all you dingbats don't get about capitalism, it REWARDS greedy property companies for having empty property. It's not because of leftists or crime. So many people, no clue what you're talking about.

It's sad watching my city fall apart. My heart is stuck in San Francisco, but I don't know for how much longer. 5 years ago, I never thought about leaving this city. But wages aren't keeping up with inflation, the average 1 bedroom apartment is now $3600 a month, and a 1000 sqr ft starter home that needs remodeling and mold remediation is 1.2 million, all in a city where HUD says the poverty line is $82,000 a year. Yes, the homeless have more rights at this point. If you park a meter for too long, you'll get a $128 ticket. But set up a tent and block a store front and the sidewalk, and nothing happens to you. Heck, I saw homeless guy with working washers and dryers two days ago, illegally hooked up to a fire hydrant and lifted up a PG&E man hole cover to steal power. But If I miss my PG&E bill, they'll cut my power and take me to court. Yes, the homeless are untouchable, while the average citizen is being milked of every penny so they can keep increasing the homeless budget. Enough is enough.

I wonder why tech giants in the area are not pooling resources together to help the city. How would they get top talents to work for them if they neglect the neighborhood. So they're not helping at all despite making billions? I also noticed downtown San Jose is so dilapidated when I visited. Come to think of it, it's ironic how Silicon Valley is letting this all happen. Don't they realize the value of their property will go down, too, if they don't help? The top 10 companies ther make $1 trillion a year. I read a book about the NY subway system building had Steinway founder (and the piano manufacturer) championing and assisting any way he could in building that subway — no one today wants to step up, even if they're not obligated to do so?
