A preliminary report by Colombian authorities and obtained by NBC News says the pilot on the plane that crashed in the Amazon jungle radioed mayday twice because of engine trouble. NBC News’ Kelly Cobiella has more details on the incident and the four children that survived.

These kids have faced struggle already may not be from very well to do background and also not had a comfortable childhood because of family and parental issues maybe not sure…. Mother was a great woman definitely 🙏….she has bought them up to face adversities and definitely prayed for her children during her last breath….And then the Almighty took over and watched upon them 🙏🙏

Hollywood is gonna come knocking. Their story of resilience, strength, and survival is gonna soon be a streamable movie or documentary. Hollywood better pay them! Don’t just take and exploit their story for your own profit and gain. These poor children endured enough and deserve a financial safety net to secure their future
What about the bodies of the dead, were they found?
After the first time pilot should of found a place to land to have it inspected or turned around.
The MOST IMPORTANT PART about this story is that these people were FLEEING threats of the FARC guerrila that was supposed to have made a peace deal in 2016. They wouldn't have been in that position if thier father hadn't been threatened and trying to get his family to safety in the first place. Now he has lost several family members, including hia wife, and has to uproot his children and move to a city that has very little to do with his prior way of life because of that. So next time you criticize Colombians for not supporting peace deals, think about these children. Its much more complicated than it seems

That is horrible; Losing your mother like that and spending 40 days watching her decompose. I hope that they can erase those images from their memories. In a way, this reminds me a bit of The Life of Pi.

I can just imagine the pain ans suffering the mom endured knowing that she was injured, was going to die and was to leave her four kids behind. Just horrific! 😭
