So move to Serbia. I am not interested in taking advice from a country that ethnically cleansed millions of their neighbors (which they continue to deny). Maybe they should have “reoriented away from violence” in the 90s.
What an absurdly short attention span Americans must have.
I'm not well educated on Serbian history, so I am unsure if they had something similar to our 2nd Amendment, but in the US most MAGA GOP have proven lives don't matter money does and because of that, we in America will continue to experience mass shootings until those politicians decide American lives matter more than monetary donations.
We aren't Serbia. Keep in mind that the American purpose for owning a firearm under the second amendment is potentially to use such firearms against a tyrannical government. Name another country where the ownership of firearms is tied to such a thing.
It isn't voluntary turning in of firearms when you are under coercion.

I can buy AK-47 down the street. I can buy an AK-47 at the gun show or Cabelas or Walmart. I can sell those to anyone I want. Project Cyclone sold guns to literal terrorists which led to Osama starting Al Qaeda. America loves guns and loves selling them to whoever wants them regardless of who they intend to shoot. Even other US citizens. Even children.
The current state of violence in this country and elsewhere can be traced back to decades of the largest gun manufacturers selling them to whoever and for whatever. Then Americans have the audacity to look around and go "What happened to us? Must be mental health.". It's not mental health. It's blood money. The routine school shootings and mass shootings are the consequences of the largest super power on the planet giving guns to literal CRIMINALS and TERRORISTS.
There are people who have a genuine interest in weapons outside of murdering people and that is valid. But among those people are others who are 1 traumatic event or a divorce away from becoming mass murderers.
Gun control laws may work in Serbia. But the US is a completely different beast. It is the source. President Eisenhower warned us of the power these people have in his farewell address January 17, 1961. The military industrial complex must be completely dismantled if we ever want to see change in the decades ahead.
It would be great if Americans could come together like this, something might get done then.🙏

People are comparing the US to Serbia, let’s not forget that they got out of a civil war not too long ago over ethnic divides… Serbia is not a country of many cultures and many colors… same thing with the rest of Europe. Countries here in the Americas and Africa are filled with different ethnic groups and most of the continent of Africa shows what happens when you take away gun rights from the law abiding citizens, Mexico shows what happens when you take away guns from law abiding citizens, the USA is not made up of fairies and magic. I do believe there should be some kind of test to purchase a firearm here in the states but banning guns is not the solution. The reason why jails are overpopulated; people break the law and the last thing I want is me as a law abiding citizen in my house where my family sleeps having 1,2,3… etc thief’s coming in my house to steal a tv or whatever and all I can do is throw objects or pepper-spray because I can’t own a firearm. Sometimes a pistol doesn’t do the job…

Americans have become desensitized to gun violence. Nothing could convince them of outlawing guns. There will most likely be more deaths and suffering from gun violence in the coming weeks but they would just turn a blind eye on it. It is what it is. Gun ownership is too engrained into the fabric of society.
