Authorities say Uber driver Daniel J. Piedra Garcia, was shot and later died at a hospital in El Paso, Texas, after Phoebe Copas, who mistakenly believed Garcia was attempting to kidnap her and take her to Mexico, opened fire on the 52-year-old driver during a ride. KTSM reports.

Uber, Rideshare, Lyft, all y'all companies should provide your driver employees with recording devices, cameras and warning stickers to post for the passengers reminding them that they are being recorded.
Just because y'all sluff-off responsibilities to the drivers, does not make y'all less liable for employee injuries or deaths under OSHA, or federal statutes. The drivers are considered Your Employees and deserve equal protection under the law.

This is one of the reasons I will NEVER be an Uber driver. Not only do they have to deal with entitled snots and drunk people, they face the risk of violence. News Flash: YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THE USE OF SOMEONE'S CAR! It could be a ride share, your groceries being shopped and delivered to you, restaurant orders, etc. Not one of those entitles you to the use of someone else's personal vehicle, nor does it entitle you to their time. These are luxuries, people. If you can't act like a decent human being, and if you don't want to tip decently, then find another way. You are NOT entitled to these services!
