Part of a fresco that has just been uncovered in the atrium of a home in ancient Pompeii looks a lot like a pizza. But an official at the historical site says it’s not.

So who's gonna establish the first Pizzeria Pompeii using this fresco as the recipe?
Wow.. Loved the Pizza In Napoli.. It was simple flavorful and delicious… When we lived there we were told the history of how the Margareta Pizza came about an heres proof that PIZZA is much older than thought.. How Cool.!
With all the centuries of Romans having little food shops, kitchens, trying to get the last as out of you, I wouldn’t be surprised if eventually the cooks and kitchens came out with meat pizzas, sandwiches, hamburgers numerous times through their urban living from 300 bc to 500 ad+ in one of their thousands of towns and cities….
This is an awesome find! Just remarkable. Being an archeologist must be a fascinating job. Just imagine all the different discoveries that can happen at any time. Like no one expected to find the 'pizza'.
explains why they were late in evolution
That doesn't look like poor agricultural food slow one

This really does remind me of a pizza, a healthy pizza. Seems like there's only nuts and fruits as part of this recipe.
It is amazing how well-preserved this find was. So much so that you can decipher all the individual ingredients in this dish. I wonder how long before someone replicates this.
