Parents are too dumb and obsessed with their own social lives to have time for parental controls. kids can just lie about their birthday and create an adult account without any of these measured in place.
Too late.
Because facebook turning around and updating parental controls after years of social experimentation targeting adolescents feeds is going to make any impact against their own algorithm when it is their employees who leak source to allow for counter measures and bypasses for anything they implement to restrict accounts.. Until all corps hosting social media can be held liable for the lack of moderation and safety measures nothing they do to 'protect' will be anything more than tongue wagging. They have no fears.
In this age of people believing what they see/read on both platforms, we need parental protections as well.
You know you're Gen X when you read the headline and go, what's Meta? 🤔
