  1. OK. This was ok. But you want to talk about really excellent airmanship…About ten years ago a flight from Newark Airport to Warsaw, Poland. Two hundred thirty one passengers on board. None of the landing gear on a wide body 767 would deploy. The pilot spent about an hour trying everything to deploy them.

He dumped most of the fuel before landing.

The pilot made a smooth landing at about 145 mph.

He was honored in Poland and the US and compared to Miracle On The Hudson. Yeah…I'd say so… He spoke through broken English but like a professional, he downplayed it saying he was just doing his job.

Yeah, he sure did. If not touching down at the right angle and one of those engines too much caught the tarmack more than the other one, the plane could have pinwheeled tearing it apart causing an inflamed plane with the remaining fuel. A total cluster F. Or even worse if one engine broke off.

  2. Granted this isn't the first time a airplane landed safely without a nose landing gear. Air Canada 143 had to glide to a nearby abandoned (which was later remodified as a race car track) airfield when it lost fuel during flight.

  3. Pilot Here. Nose gear? Not really that big of a deal that the Media Likes to make of it. The main gear? A Bit trickier.

  4. The pilots and crew members are really amazing to do exactly how to handle it at all.

  5. Impressive flying. They are lined up perfectly down the center line of the runway.

  6. amazing props to those pilots

  7. Fake News ABS. I get my aviation news from other YouTube channels that know what their doing.

  8. Doesn't look like they foamed the runway, which would have been safer.

  9. better call Saul and LAWYER UP

  10. couldn't they invent a Teflon type strip to lay down in such a case so that the nose doesn't scrape against the cement ? Anything to lessen friction ?

  11. Shouldn’t be allowed to fly a plane in America thats 23 years old. Thats sick, the airlines make enough to damn near replace them constantly

  12. People, were you really texting loved ones? Have a little faith.

  13. That is extremely dangerous though 😮

  14. Very impressive but quick question: could they not manually rotate the landing gear down? As is normal for commercial jets. Did it somehow fall off? In which the maintenance crew must have massively messed up. Glad nobody is hurt but this is not ok.

  15. 😢 I hope that Mad Dog can be saved.

  16. RESPECT FOR PILOT GOD DRIVER

  17. Delta, always seems to lose a part of this or that, mid-air. 😮😔🇺🇸

  18. Pilot must have worked for jet blue before.

  19. As someone who has lived, this was a story

  20. All that in flight txting is what caused the LG not to deploy. We know.

  21. You would think someone would get a film of the landing. I guess we'll just have to trust you.

  22. The B717 is the MD-80 of the 2020s. They're getting old and will need replacement soon.

  23. There HAS to be video of the CRAZY landing as it skid to a STOP 🛑.

  24. All those passengers must realize this is their turning point in life. Very lucky to get a second chance at making life better and telling those how much you love them every chance you get. Awesome job by the pilots and crew. Good news. Finally.

  25. Call it out, AirTran 717 aircraft

  26. Why does this happen WHEN I'm not there-

  27. Microsoft Flight Simulator was my favorite game growing up, to the Pilots Good Job, and next time make sure the plane get fixed by Jorge. B he went to school for that in Miami and he is the best. He is the only person that can work on my plane. He is the only person I trust looking after my plane related stuff, I fly knowing that I am safe he does a total 365 Point Inspection and will not allow me to fly with duct tape on the wings. He will just replace them.
