My Cousin Professor Jim Yates who died last year after a short illness ( he was 80 ) was a university professor for many decades and University of Southern California ( USC ) and he told me many many times he thought Affirmative Action was wrong and extremely unfair to students who had worked hard and achieved academic success and were denied an education simply because they were the wrong skin color or ethnicity.

I take issue with the comment that affirmative action is “reverse discrimination”. Discrimination implies a negative motive and intent. Affirmative action when instituted was not at all about limiting whites; instead it’s intent was to somewhat level the playing field, to provide people of color opportunities they would otherwise not been provided, due to systemic racism built into many of our industries and educational institutions. I believe, because of the baked in racism in our country, a white person would likely be selected over an equally qualified person of color, nearly 100% of the time, if it weren’t for affirmative action laws.
Opponents of diversity are opponents of any racial consciousness. They want to prevent us from understanding the ways that the past informs the present, from wrestling with the fullness and richness and complexity of our history. Indeed, they wish to impose an ahistoric mythology on the American people that makes it harder, if not outright impossible, to address the many ways that Black and white still live in separate and unequal Americas.

If i have a 3.8 GPA and a 28 ACT score and get rejected, and i found out any new person get accepted and has a lower GPA and Act score. Im suing for discrimination. Im very sure whats coming next is a clause that doesn't allow you to sue universities.
