A Delta flight from Atlanta to Charlotte prepared to touch down without functioning nose landing gear. The pilots landed the plane safely on the runway with more than 100 people onboard. NBC News’ Tom Costello has more details on the incident ahead of the holiday weekend.

Ground Stops DO NOT make things worse. They line up the air traffic before it takes off (so the passengers have real bathrooms and food for as long as possible) and then you fly to your destination and LAND THERE. Without ground stops, flights would be diverting to other cities and it would be like trying to unstick a 30-pound ball of chewed gum instead of untangling string.
There needs to be heavy gauge metal skid bar skis mounted on planes for belly landings and nose landings. 😅😂
Delta isn't having a good year first a ramp agent commits suicide getting sucked into an engine than next they have to divert because of a unruly passenger and now this

I recommend to stay off planes and take trains instead. Usually. These days I recommend no travel but one-way travel, to lessen your chances of accident. Even on the road, even on a bus.
Landing with no nose gear is not bad… When one of the main gear doesn't come down then it can be really bad, and usually taking up all the landing gear is best.. One main gear down and one up will cause the plane to ground loop when the wing without gear would spin it once it hits the tarmac.. I had a similar emergency years ago..

Only makes me feel even safer when flying. Look, perfection is not a thing – no matter how hard we check and double-check, sometimes things go wrong with human technology. It's how the issue gets handled that matters. Other than the nose setting on the ground, that plane looks the same as any other plane that just landed. Well done, flight crew! 👍

moving less than 1% of americans through the air should not be as difficult as it has become. the government needs to realize that just as we are the only country without national healthcare, we are the only country without national airline subsidies, both these things need to change.
Thank God, they landed safely. Today is the anniversary of my friend's plane crash…they had issue with the landing year😢
Controllers don't get paid enough, Republicans cut the pay scale way back and now are too busy with hate and fear hearings to actually do anything about this failing infrastructure.
