Maybe it’s the fact we invented the game and made the rules and it was played by gentlemen not many of those about now mostly a load of wankers who wouldn’t know what being a sportsman means if he had done this before why not warn him.
Either the 'spirit of cricket' is abiding by its laws and respecting the umpire's decision – or it's not. I'm pretty sure that what the 'spirit of cricket' is not is petulently whingeing and booing the opposition and calling them cheats – PURELY because you failed to abide by its laws or respect the umpire's decision in applying those laws. A hypocritical farce.
I once got out in village cricket but came back in as a runner. The other team didn't seem to care because I was a non-striker or runner for some 3 overs. But then I suddenly became the last man standing, and when I got back to the striker's end, the other team went, "no, no, this is cheating." But then in the spirit of cricket, they allowed me to bat again for all the running I did, and I got out the next ball.
The match-winning moment was catching Stokes out . Clearly stumping Barstow had little to do with Australia winning since they'd been winning the whole game 'til Stokes got sparked (undeservingly) about Barstow and ran 155.
Very good video 🎉😊
