Inflation depreciates idle money. I'm in a privileged position to be able to save almost 65% of our net household income, as I placed it on safer investments. The key for us was not spending beyond our means. If you invest and have other sources of income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends. Got north of $200K in my portfolio as I bought a lot of dividend stocks before, I'm buying more now, and I will buy more when it drops further

I am starting to think the FED should have just let the market correct itself. Buying a home was much easier with a 2% interest rate than a 7% interest rate. Now a person that paid $600,000 for a home with a 2% interest rate 2 years ago has the same mortgage payment as someone who purchased a $300,000 home with a 7% interest rate today.
The best recommendation I've heard is to limit government employment to 20. Get rid of the millions of pencil-pushing bureaucrats. Head weight and goldbricking. 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤮🤮🤮

Times are weird. The US dollar is losing purchasing power due to inflation while strengthening against other currencies and assets. The stock market, real estate, crypto AND precious metals are down because people are fleeing to the "safety" of the dollar. where else can we put our investment money?
