  7. Don't build in floodplains or along riverbeds. duh

  8. They could create a National Water Pipeline that would move water from wet areas to dry areas. The water flow can spin magnets to generate hydro-electricity to enable the water to be pumped up hill. Water stored high up can be stored as potential energy and turned to kinetic and electric energy when needed. The excess water and electricity can be used to fund states, feed crops, put out forest fires, sold to Canada, Mexico, Middle East, etc.

  9. FEMA must be underfunded with all these extreme weather events…. and infrastructure spending won't do much good if homes are burnt and roads are washed away.

  10. As an observation: "once in a thousand years event" is rapidly becoming obsolete. If you keep having these "thousand year" events one after the other, all over the place, you know something's not adding up! The math just doesn't make logical sense anymore! The last twenty years or more has been "a once in a thousand years" event at this point!
