Extreme heat is scorching a staggering 80 million Americans from California to South Florida. In the Southwest, temperatures are expected to surge up to 120 degrees. NBC News’ Erin McLaughlin speaks to Phoenix residents about the heat wave’s impact.

Houston is a few degrees cooler than other cities further west like El Paso and Phoenix, but I guarantee that Houston is much more unbearable due to the massive humidity there. While I've never been to Houston, I have experienced that kind of humidity before, and it is absolutely terrible. Hope everyone stays safe.
I lived in Texas, Houston area, in the 1990’s. My first, and only, summer there it got to 110 every day for at least a week and the rest of the time it was in the mid-90’s to low 100’s. I remember it clearly because being from Michigan I had never even heard of weather conditions getting that hot and I was pretty certain I was dying anytime I walked out of the air conditioning. The only difference between then and now…now there’s a whole campaign to use heatwaves in the middle of summer, in the south, as an excuse to convince people the end is near. 😂
I love New York's climate that's why I never moved 4 seasons here average temperature June July and August middle 80s.
The only problem with Florida is you have to live in Florida.

The woman says that the states resources are just not enough. Nothing on this earth is adequate. Everything is always just below what you need. It’s up to you to figure out how to live a good life. You can’t rely on some thing as someone else on this earth. Everything is inadequate. these people chose to live in Phoenix and knowing that it gets up above 100°F. Individual air conditioners for separate rooms are cheap. So save up money from working hard so you can run your AC. Or move to a cooler climate. Everything on this planet is in adequate. It’s up to you to cover the difference. Wherever you are right now is because of all your choices that lead you to where you are right now. Make better choices.

What better solution then to build more public libraries. Kids and parents alike can read or they could form teaching clubs where members of the communities could enlist volunteer retirees to teach topics that would be informative as well interesting for people of all ages. It's cheaper to cool masses and entertain them as well in large public libraries with lots of conference rooms. With overwhelming heat indexes we could give prisoners classes to give them purpose and knowledge would produce a more understanding miscreant. Schools could be utilized throughout the summer vacation season providing controlled climates for the less fortunate.
The human species is already extinct. Not all of us realize it yet and too many of us are willfully ignoring it. But hey, at least we created amazing profit for shareholders.

100 degrees in the desert is nothing new. I live in the south and its been no different then any other summer. They need to stop lying about this garbage. Then again they probably get paid to do it. Al Gore made millions off it and i am sure Greta will follow in his footsteps. I been to Arizona many times 100 degrees there is nothing unusual
