  1. This is exactly why I moved to Japan. Life's too short to struggle over basic necessities.

  2. @84k she would pay back in taxes for sure as well even with 4 kids.

  3. Simple, the 1% keep wanting to make more
And more money, its called greed.

  4. Right and this is honest media? Lol!

  5. Giving them credit for working hard, but seriously, 4 kids and a single mom. Where’s the kid’s father. Also, the stay at home mom while husband only makes $20.50 per hour, not happening if she were my wife. How about accountability for one’s own life decisions. I hope they get better training for better jobs, but the tax payer is subsidizing them for their life choices more than just a living wage.

  6. back in the day when the man was the sole provider…. how was those man able to take care of multiple families on 1 income but now that women are workin, now everybody livin check to check and poor…. If you look at the graph, when women entered the workforce, thats when inflation started and its been goin up every decade every since. Its simple economics, More money into circulation = inflation.

  7. Derp de derp derp derpty derp derp we're derped

  8. The pay for workers is absolutely egregious. The goal of $15/hour is far too little. But four kids?? That's way more kids than the average wealthy person has. And the couple already struggling with one child had another one? Kids are expensive; stop having them. It's not fair to the children for whom you can't afford opportunities.

  9. You forgot to talk about her discounted rent and the child support she gets from 3 baby daddies

  10. I don't think people understand the higher min wage is the higher the prices for everything is. Min wage drive's the pricing for lot of stuff we need. What is needed is a cap on pricing for homes(rent) insurance (car, medical) Car(gas, repair). our basic needs need to be in a price range we can afford , to save a little for retirement. all the big corpations have been making record profits for the last few years.

  11. America system is great work less and get food stamps and free medicare

  12. That printing guy is giving off VERY strong "I got mine" vibes.

  13. How many thousands are working homeless now?

  14. She makes more than 1500 a month if you do the math. She doesnt even know how much she makes so you can tell she doesnt budget and just spends….

  15. As a manager in the staffing industry, it breaks my heart ! Sometimes, when you hear these companies and what they want to pay I cant help but wonder if they could survive if they made that type of money theyre offering employees. When i do a market analysis and tell them what other companies are paying for similar positions and why they don't have😊 retention issues they still seem confused but refuse to budge. 😢 its heartbreaking

  16. Kanika a good momma bless that soul

  17. All I know is this woman is real af. And this whole, ppl’s wages increased is meaningless. Every year on paper, I make more money but in reality I make about the same and it seems like less. I received a $2,000 annual raise, minus deductibles and taxes, paid over 52 weeks. My rent increased 350 bucks a month, my car insurance increased by 30 a month with zero claims on my record., etc, etc. Most of y’all know the struggle. There’s an evil side to capitalism and the majority pay the price.

  18. Most people today live way above their means. That's a huge part of the issue but when you have that convo it leads to everyone thinking they are entitled to it all.

  19. 😂😂😂
Raising Minimum wage will just increase everything else.😂

  20. The interviewer is ignorant about economics: both reasons for wages rising would be inflationary for the business owner, her “gotcha” question deserved a better response.

  21. She’s doing this alone? Where’s the father? It’s sad when you make the choice to have kids alone, (most of the time) you and your kids are going to suffer. You’re 10x more likely to live in poverty. The cycle never ends.

  22. That $3500 will not get far in a month she forgot to add the cost of gas and the price of food if you’re not receiving government assistance so that little bit put towards the bank won’t even make it in the bank. These corporations are not paying the cost to live. It’s only enough to pay a few bills in a month to turn around and pay again next month. That’s why you see and hear people saying they working two or three jobs it’s insane that’s not living that’s slaving. Find the light in the dark basically pretend you not struggling. Pretend like this is living the good life.

  23. Capitalism at its finest , now say it out loud ! FREEDOM!

  24. Capitalism, its behaving as intended. Pretty soon, none of us will have anything left for the wealthy to take.

  25. I make $20 an hour and I can’t afford rent by myself it’s time for all the boomers to get out of office and the next generation make a change the boomers are way too out of touch

  26. $3500 after tax means $7000 before tax. There are multiple types of taxes and then need to put away little bit for retirement. People forgot they need paying 40-45% tax from their paycheck. (Federal tax, state tax, social security tax, Medical tax, family sick leave tax , and other tax depends on city and state). That is not include property tax (which included part of the rent). If income tax can be lower then the wage would be an actual living wage.

  27. how can you make 1500 a month working full time at a combined $36.50/hr?? and if she isn't working full time, why not?? i work one job $20/hr about 50 hrs a week and make only a little less than the 3500 a month she says would be a livable wage. not judging genuinely curious

  28. Working 7 days a week is not a "life" as this guy would have it. Its your once and mortal life. Take a que from Europe people. They don't put up with that over there. They've seen the rise and fall of empires– with all the kings, queens and armies to fill a billion graves. Got it?

  29. Tie the minimum wage to an indicator of inflation and then aim state support at companies that can't afford the wage. There. Solved. It's really that simple, yet everybody acts like it's complicated because they don't actually want to solve the problem. They just want cheap labor,

  30. I wish Kanika was my neighbor to give me some of that inspiration from time to time.

  31. She is doing better than a lot of college grads with no kids living at home. Not ideal, but she is making a way. Everyone thinks that all these homeless people are unemployed druggies. Look closer. The US housing market is the biggest financial racket.

  32. Tell me that wasn’t a big expensive Harley Davidson in the backyard of one of their houses.

  33. So, the issue I’m personally having is I have kids to an ex wife who I pay 1k a month for even though I get them 50/50 and I had a lawyer during the divorce, but my state is a no fault state so doesn’t matter right? Well, throw a hurricane that left me with 145k in damages, insurance company that left the state, my health failing from scleroderma and Issac’s syndrome and then the normal problems all of you deal with, life is just hard. No help any which way you look. Disibility is a 2 year wait so don’t suggest it, I’m going to court to fight the child support but I have my doubts based on history of how it’s been handled thus far, god knows when my house gets fixed, I have a public adjuster thanks for the suggestion….. but I could use one.

  34. The discussion on increased wages has gone on so long that now it needs to be at least $20 minimum wage. Company should make it mandatory that cuts come from the top before you can lay off employees. How you get paid the equivalent of 10 employees and do less work than 1. Cut back ceo pay first

  35. They want us to make 6000+ a month to qualify for a studio apartment…

  36. why is it always a single mother and usually black in these videos? can’t you find just average joes who are single who can’t afford stuff? It’s the same exact thing every single time.

  37. Gee, remember in the good old days with the "Orange Man" when the economy was booming, there were jobs everywhere, and minorities were doing better than ever?! So glad we got rid of him and got this non-racist president in office. (insert the most sarcasm you possibly can).

  38. Maybe it’s the fact that she has 4 kids and is a single mother. That’s more likely the problem.

  39. The simplest solution: Universal Basic Income

Make it below the amount for anyone to live off of in and of itself, so as not to promote total idleness, but make it high enough to generously subsidize income. How to pay for it? The same way they do in Alaska: natural resources. Socialism is bad because it relies on taking what someone created. No one created the natural resources, like Alaska's oil, except God.

  40. There’s not enough housing, it’s too expensive to buy, skyrocketing rent prices and food prices are up. This is why I won’t be having kids.

  41. She lives in a huge house…. Downsize from a $400,000 home to a $150,000 home…

  42. I love her spirit and her positive mindset. Keep striving forward Ma’am

  43. Well it’s clear to me what the answer is… reduce cost of housing.
