Musical legend Tony Bennett had died at the age of 96, according to a statement his publicist gave to the Associated Press. NBC News’ Morgan Radford has the details.

When these champions dies it's like our musical fundament is disappearing. Their class, style and charm can not be replaced. Been through a war must have given this generation a whole other level of joy being on stage. Not so sure today's artists have that. It's rather superficial.

So many amazing achievements and yet they had to mention drug addiction and a ten year hiatus because of it. I never even knew that and I was ok with not knowing. Maybe stick with the highlights the next time a legend dies.
