Investigators say Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo “Freddy” Ramirez shot himself in an attempted suicide after a domestic dispute. WTVJ’s Steve Litz reports.

I wonder if he'll be cited for braking the law.
1. Unlawful discharge of a firearm.
2. Unlawful discharge of a firearm on a highway.
3. Attempted suicide.
4. Unlawful discharge of a firearm attempted suicide.
5. Unlawful discharge of a firearm endangering the public. For a start.
So the guy gets into a verbal altercation with his wife at the hotel, then they leave, and the guy shoots himself. If a wife can invoke him to go off a mental cliff like that, imagine what a violent, deranged, drug addict would bring out of him.
UPDATE: The gun is safe and is recovering with it's family.

Domestic violence with a promised career input in 2024 doesn't go as planned I guess. When an independent panel will begin investigating law enforcement domestic violence cases? Police can't investigate police, it has been proven. Regardless of whether or not it was “accidental," "negligent" or "self inflicted" don't give him back his gun and badge. And also, DO NOT let the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) aka Police union to get near his wife, they will try to persuade her to give different statement or story!!

Police officers have a high rate of suicide. It’s not really brought up but it’s a fact.

Police pay a high price for doing their jobs: high rates of depression, PTSD, spousal abuse and suicide. I hope this man figures out that help is available if he reaches out for it.

You have to be mentally ill to shoot yourself over some female – wife or not! It is not that serious! Men really need help if their life revolves around some woman the point you are trying to take your own life! Now that he knows she is toxic – if he was SMART he would kick her to the curb and divorce her so that he can live his life with happiness! This is not happiness, sane or safe if you are with someone that you are trying to take your life because of them. That is called plain stupidity!

People forget that judges, lawyers, cops, paramedics, doctors ,etc are still human and have a life that we don't know how well or not it's going. Hopefully this begins a new chapter in his life for the better.
His wife drove him to suicide. So sad. She probly egged him on to do it too. I hope his memory is there and will speak out about domestic abuse, not just physical, but how evil someone can be without leaving physical marks

Cops are so bad at dealing with mental health crisis they even shoot themselves if they're having some kind of an episode.
At least the streets will be slightly safer with one less cop running around with their gun, thinking anyone who looks at them sideways is threatening their life.
