Really this interview is nonsense. Let's be real, Smith's best day are not "in front of him", he was much better in 2019, and we were lucky to escape with a draw. Who know's what will happen at The Oval, but this type of interview is just a wate of time
Aussies have done an excellent job as a team … Cummins overall as captain has been impressive. The only small critique is that Warner and Smith haven't been able to cut loose – Broad has had the ability to take the important wickets in the top order. But the wickets have been hugely in favour of Englands bowlers who are in their best forms of their careers, so context is 9/10's of the law (in terms of rating our batsman). It's been a long series of tests …. this will be the 6th test with the boys out of their comfort zone and as it stands they've won 3 lost 1 in 5 tests.

If warner gets both 50s in 2 innings this week he will play till his retirement against the west indies in sydney or fail again his retirement is imminent after the series
I would drop Starc and Warner and bring in Nesser and Murphy. Nesser is in great form with bat and ball and needs an opportunity. Warner hasn't been in great form so i would replace him with Marnus.
Itās a shame that in this day and age, that we can not build a cricket stadium with a retractable roof. It has happened in football, tennis and in American baseball

If England didn't basically give up half way through the first test nearly every time they came to Australia, then maybe they would have only needed to draw this series.
Set a normal field,and instead of 3 slips,take 3rd slip out and put him on the fence at cover/ point if you want boundary protection! Bowl 5th 6th stump line with a touch of away swing and Starc bowling across the body enticing the drive. Then drop the field accordingly if they are going at 5 RPO!! Set aggressive fields when batters arrive!!

Need runs from Khawaja and Smith who have been quiet. Green and Carey also need to contribute with the bat. Have left Warner out as he wonāt score and is a passenger. Without runs to play with the bowlers have surely struggled and it showed. We were over 100 runs short in the first innings. Time for the batsmen to take ownership.
I think Ricky Ponting has been making a fair point about replacing David Warner that his replacement would be Marcus Harris who has not played any practice match in the last 40 odd days so he does not have credentials to replace Warner whereas Warner despite not getting big scores, has looked good in almost every innings except in Headingley and scored 20s and 30s.32 and 28 in last game should be enough for him to retain his place for 5th test.
