This is one of the reasons EV's are doomed. It was a novel idea, but the reality of the situation is these fires burn 3-4 thousand degrees and are extremely hard to extinguish. Soon they will be un-insurable.

It's not the lithium batteries that are the issue. It's modified batteries and circuits and cheap non-regulated chargers that's the issue. Just make sure like all other electronics they meet a national standard, oh that's right in the US, Trump and the GOP said regulations weren't needed for anything.

Gasoline is also linked to deathly fires worldwide. And yet you don't see them cracking down on that s***.
