In a video released by Ohio state highway patrol, a 23-year-old Black man was surrendering to police when a local officer unleashed his K-9 on him. State police say the suspect was driving and an attempted traffic stop turned into a nearly 30-minute pursuit. The officer is now on leave. NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch reports.

I worked a psych unit for years, there were several times when police released attack dogs on mentally ill people who posed no threat. In one case, the mother was just worried when her son went into the woods, cops released dogs on the poor kid.
