  1. Wow this news story try to over exaggerate. The ride was still "safe" it just failed to stop.

Does not compare to these other ride issues mentioned.

I will still ride this and fury in NC as I know they are safe. You have a greater chance of car accidents then you do at amusement parks

  2. This is not a surprise. When I was in junior high I rode one ride at Rye that malfunctioned upside down and me and sibling and the other riders were stuck until it was fixed. Bad experience.

  3. Liers, those rides are not safe because any thing can happen

  4. Idiocracy was a documentary. Only it wasn't 500 years in the future. It is now.

  5. I use to go to Rye Playland when I was a kid many times. Didn't ever have any safety issues with any of the rides. However these things do happen.

  6. "maintenance team ultimately shutting down power" due to an "electrical issue" @ 0:35 – did they literally have to pull the plug??

  7. "Oopsie." – Chainsaw Frank, the Carnie.

  8. I love playland😂 best times

  9. I mean, you pay for what you get. Those rides are put up in like a few hours lol

  10. hahahahahahaha🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂

  11. Even if the emergency stop button didn't work, don't they have access to the circuit breakers?

But whatever the case is seems like the control panel had a short in it, possibly caused by a rodent chewing through the wires.

  12. It ran for an extra 3-4 minutes.

    Oh the horror.😐

  13. These rides need to be inspected every 1 to 2 months and not by someone associated with the carnival or fair. Peoples live are at risk. Just a thought.

  14. Finally someone getting more than their money's worth! Now that's value! 😂

  15. Simple amusement parks need lots of money so safety issues of rides are quietly swept under the rug. They've been doing this for decades but with cell phones and fanatics that record everything they are bringing to light the true darkness of amusement parks

  16. Are those rides safe at all?? I DON'T trust them as far as I can SPIT @ THEM!!!

  17. “I’m not an engineer but that’s not good”😂😂😂😂

  18. The insight that man gave us halfway through is invaulable. Realizing that a crack is not good is just not something I would've thought.

  19. Fun fact : New York City is surrounded by small towns named after English costal towns.

  20. Nah, it is the spinning "backwards". Y'all find Christ.

  21. Considering Carnie's are generally drug addicts or alcoholics. You couldn't pay me to ride one of those rides

  22. The inspectors running around eating Cotton Candy performing a 3 second look, smile, and check the safe to run inspection form without truly checking everything accurately. Most of them just glance, check and walk away. The inspection agencies are not how they use to be, if you go out and record them secretly doing their job, you would be shocked at what you'll see. My only guess is the new generation of work force inside the US from all agencies do not hold the high standards of safety and protocols as the old school generations. New generation work force do not care about public safety anymore. It's the truth but not one media news agency does a report on it, why? New Generation mentality is not the same.

  23. Bruh just pull the plug. 🤦‍♀️

  24. What do you expect from an unregulated industry. This will keep happening over and over again as it has for decades now.

  25. I'ma still get on it. That my favorite ride

  26. Hm.. Poor amusement park engineering has become a recurring theme. Don't tell me it's a case of 'I played Parkitect, I can engineer a good amusement park ride'.

  27. Yes I am always prayersings supportivesltys my rosary’s 🙏🙏🙏📿📿📿 always 100% percents

  28. It's more common than you think,,The only thing running those rides are a Semi Generator witnessed the generator stop kids stuck in the dark crying!

  29. "It's the latest in a series of amusement park accidents…" that mainstream media has chosen to highlight. These accidents happen all of the time, but the main news outlets typically follow reports about one problem with others. It's not about amusement park safety. It's about news ratings.

  30. I literally watched a million videos on amusement rides breaking down. This is why I don't ride them, as there is a good chance you can literally get hurt!

  31. I can’t believe that I am so jealous as that ride is usually so short and I wish that it can last more. So if I am in that ride, it basically my wish come true in bad way (but worth it, especially no pain) AND I am deaf so I may not realizing it is stuck running but definitely being amazed at fact it last much longer.

  32. Sending hugs and prayers for everyone in need of all the mental doctor appointments they're probably gonna need, at least no one died this looks like quite the tragedy.

  33. Finally someone got their moneys worth on a carnival ride.

  34. E Stop is the first thing we learned about when I worked at a theme park. How and when to press it. There is everything else we do before that though.

  35. @NBCNews That cop had a "back the blue" flag in his police station. Thats crazy

  36. The ride of your life.
