We call it summertime.
Nobody is denying the fact that carbon emissions are contributing/assisting in the warming of the planet and it certainly needs to be addressed. But not to the point of overnight change and a drastic discontinuation of fossil fuels of which this country's economic survivability and Americans well being is dependent upon.
Our sun cycles every eleven years and is currently in a state of very high activity. However, this is not an immediate extinction level event (ELE), a catastrophe resulting in the extinction of the majority of species on the planet. Politicians and industry are taking advantage of and monetizing off of the sun's natural occurrences. Its people like AOC, Al Gore and others that have continually stated this misinformation and impending doom. It's governments, media and big businesses that are simply taking advantage of the mayhem and fear that they have created among the people by pushing false narratives in support of their green agenda. Why? For the sake of a "greener" fatter bottom line. $$$$$

In 1980, parts of Kansas had 30+days of 100 degree (unconfirmed, but given advancements in measurement, measuring air v surface, etc its probably true). It killed about a billion dollars worth of crops in 1980 dollars and NOAA lists it as one of the few billion dollar disasters
