Hello everyone! I know this isn't a place for me to be asking this but I can't help. I wanna seek some guidance from the Australians because I consider them the best in cricket (it's actually a fact). I'm from Pakistan and have recently joined a cricket academy. Everything is pretty much okay but there coaches force everyone to grip the bat in a certain way. They force us grip the bat in such a way that the toe of the bat should be facing the 1st slip. I don't know what's the wisdom behind this but I struggle to do it cuz my natural way of gripping is that the face of the bat should be at point or gully (in other words, Infront of me). They say I won't be able to make it if I don't follow them. I seek advice should I comply with them or stick to my own way? Btw great ashes I watched all 5 matches

Shambolic performance by Australia.. from 2-0 lead to draw it 2-2 thanks to rain in 4th test. it could have been 4-1 defeat for them if rain didn't stop play in 4th test & if those controversial wicket of bairsow wasn't given. and yet they are shamelessly celebrating of retaining this ashes.
Facts about Australia's test team
1) on paper they play 7 or sometimes 8 batsmen but in reality it's just 3 players khawaja, smith & head. if those 3 scores big, australia scores big. if those 3 fails, ausralia totally collapses down
2) warner is out of form for a long long time, labuchagne is out of form since india tour, carey was never a convincing batsman, green still needs time to be at his best in batting. How could bailey & macdonald selects 3 out of form batsmen who makes their batting line up vulnerable?????
3) S. smith has the best test average after sir don bradman. but if you look at the statistics you'll see smith's test average, performance & ranking comes down since langer dropped his batting position from 3 to 4 for labuchagne. if Smith could bat at 3 he could definitely prevent the sudden collapse of the top order especially when warner is out of form. marnus is a great test player but smith is more experienced & far greater than him.
4) traditionally australia always had world class wicket-keeper batsman like rod marsh, ian healy, adam gilchrist. but look at right now, alex carey is not a good batsman, bailey & macdonald can argue he is extremely good behind the stumps but if same amount of chances given to the josh inglis then he could've been the best wk batsman right now. he has some fine hundreds & fifties while batting at 6 for WA in Sheffield sheilds. he definitely could've strength australia's lower order where they're struggling a lot. you've to think about josh inglis who is scoring lots of runs in Sheild, domestic one day cup & big bash over the last couple of years who helped WA to win domestic treble in last 1 year. what else a player could do to get a chance in national team playing xi???
