Hawaiians will rebuild and will survive, because the people of these islands are strong and resilient and know – that from sorrow springs forth an even deeper and determined strength. And the people of the world, especially those who have been lucky enough to have been guests in this magical and healing place, will be there in spirit to help, to pray and to give back by doing whatever it takes to bring back that which has been lost. The significance of this place for the people can not be overstated.
Homes that had been inhabited by the same families for over 127 years, gone.
People fleeing the flames in the darkness of night, leapt into waters where sharks feed at night.
Their courage, horror and desperation, unimagineable.
The Old Banyan Tree, the oldest banyan in the world, beloved by the betrayed Queen Liliuokalani, just as the Oak Tree in the courtyard of Guernica, Spain, or the White Tree of Gondor, burnt to carbon.
How can Hawaii's shire be restored to her prior glory?
Some wounds, time can not mend.

After all this blows over, even more regular Hawaiian citizens will displaced/ homeless and corporate developers will swoop in like vaulture capitals and make sure these people stay pushed out.
I learned that to help protect from smoke inhalation is to wet towels, wrap around your nose, mouth, will help you while you work on escaping.

As a civilized nation…we must be able to respond better to these scenarios than just News stations being there. To see the anguish in these peoples eyes and hear their voices crack with despair. This is not how intelligent citizens show compassion or offer help. There should be agencies already in place dropping temporary housing or something. Media is important….but action has to be the gut response to this kind of devastation. Where is Musk..Bezos..Gates..Buffet..Zuckerberg? Help your fellow Americans…hell,use it as a write off…we don't care…JUST HELP!

When there's heavy wind, all it takes is a spark. A hurricane over 100 miles away fueled the Valley fire. Just the wind in a canyon can create a massive blowtorch. I see the conspiracy nuts are already trying to get rumors going and cash in on their hits. They're all about the money and feeding their addiction to fear , adrenaline hormone.

I recall that these Hawaiian residence when they ridiculed my awesome state of Florida because we were hit with serveral back to back hurricanes. I do not have any pity for them.
