A net article says the Plum fire chief said he has responded to six house explosions in Plum in his career but the article said no determination of the cause has been made yet.
Gas explosion??? We had that happen here in Massachusetts, Merrimack Valley, in 2018. Turned out to be a gas pressure monitor that wasn't restarted when they were rerouting a gas line. Just out of nowhere….. bam. We forget how dangerous gas is…. then something like this happens!! 🙏🙏🙏
Everytime I see a house explosion this big, I'm always reminded of the major explosion we had in Indianapolis in 2012. It happened late at night, woke me up and rattled my windows, and I lived about 8 miles away. Sadly, it was intentional to collect insurance money, but it killed the next door neighbors. Some homes in Plum were built over old mines….that may or may not be the issue here. Someone needs to find out why this only happens in Plum and not the other suburbs in Pittsburgh. When it’s multiple times in one borough something is being covered up.

RIP to those who lost their lives. When I was ten or eleven my mom and I were watching tv late one night and began to feel nauseous. Soon after that, we begin to throw up. she called Maintenance and they found a massive gas leak. they said if we had laid down that night, we would’ve died in our sleep, or we would’ve hit a light switch and the house would have blown up. Now that I’m grown, you couldn’t pay me to stay in a house ran with gas. I know the food taste better when you cook and the heat is better in the winter but the consequences of one leak, is not worth the benefits gas has over electric.

Years ago a house blew up a few blocks from me. It was a gas line. 🤷♂️ huge mess.
