One more thought is that finger pointing after the fact doesn’t do any good for anyone! It’s easy to sit back in hindsight and say this or that but what I know now is that here in Northern California, PG& E our local pier provider along with the local government is doing a good job (as I write this) of either turning power off or redirecting it along with notices through my phone to let us know about certain conditions that are going on. Right now we are in prime fire conditions and just yesterday we had a pretty good size grass fire and they threw everything they had at it while at the same time sending real time reports as to what was going on so if someone sees smoke they know the reasons for it and what they are doing to attack it! I hope Hawaii is paying attention to what California is doing right now!
Ok so having survived both of Northern California’s recent wildfires I will say that no warning system in most cases could have made any difference whatsoever, I had a friend that was house sitting his parents house (he grew up in this house so he knew it well and also his father had the were with all to tell his son where all the important papers were in the house should something happen, they had been through a flood so that’s why his father had said something)when the firestorm came he had mere minutes to get what he could and get out. There was no rhyme or reason to the direction of the fires that happened here! Just like what transpired in Hawaii

lived in Hawaii 30years , one thing i know is they blame the government for anything even the natural disasters , they even got mad and still to this day they are mad about the “fake” missile alert , its almost as if they want it to be real. on the mean time firemen lost their homes too , meaning, alarm or no alarm they were gonna lose their town anyways. if they had money to fly them green harvest helicopters looking for weed they can use them helicopters to eradicate areas with potential fire hazards

If it’s assumed that alarms should have been sounded only once the fires started, then that would have been already too late to evacuate Lahaina. There are really only three exits out onto the Highway, which is the only road away from Lahaina. The highway was blocked due to downed power lines. Traffic in Lahaina came to a standstill. The only warning that would have mattered would have been before the fires started, but who know? The fires likely started due to arcing power lines. HECO did not de-energize any power lines in Laihina as a preventive measure.
I love how the incident commander for this fire is the same incident commander from the las vegas shooting. And theyre find bodies in melted metal. Trees and home fires dont really create that type of heat. And yeah ill tell ya why they didnt warn you. They want you dead.

Hey I've lived in Alaska for the last 50 years and it's always somebody else's fault when your cabin burns down. What happened to the mandatory cell phone notification like we have in Alaska. Weather goes south my phone goes off kinda like a amber alert
The perfect storm happens so fast that that the unthinkable only takes minutes to be too late to react to. I know there are a lot of people that go to conspiracy, but there's nothing that would make that reasonable when you had hurricane force winds, dry conditions, old wooden structures, old infrastructure and older power lines. Add to that, only two roads in and out and panic, it's a tragic and heartbreaking situation that everyone wants to put blame right now, people are still in shock and grief.
My heart hurts for all their pain and loss.
