“It is disgusting. It’s a land grab,” #Lahaina resident Tiare Lawrence says of realtors contacting victims of the #Maui #wildfires and asking them to sell their properties. “We will do whatever it takes to protect Lahaina.”

Wooooooow
Oprah us buying it up.
The vultures always circle in tragedy
Disgusting and these realtors are acting like piranhas trying to feed off of the misfortune of people. They should get their realtors license revoked 😡
The plan was to burn it down for land grab and they succeeded America is corporate and corporate only.
People with nothing at their most vulnerable state being enticed to sell for a new start, that is scary… I get why they’d be tempted to take offer after the nightmare they just experienced.
And actually All over Maui , families will move away and homes will be bought up. Our economy is taking a big hit by the sudden, rapid extreme reduction of tourism. High cost of living here and now many, many no income with tourists gone. The fire has many layers of impact. I’m very worried for how much Maui will change from this.
Don’t sell your land!!! Please don’t sell.
Burning down the villages of the natives is an Amercian tradition. Doing it for billion-dollar real estate corporations is 2023.
Who is this person? Is she part of the group that is claiming Hawaii is actually theirs? Does she have proof that realtors are doing this? Do we only have her word for this? She has all of the "code words"; land grab, displaced enough, we need a seat at the table, rich cultural history, multigenerational families to come back home.
make sure you report the the FUCKig news corectl you didn't mention that they have a law you can't developed land their UNLESS its a rebuild
Don’t fall for that! Keep your land
Suspicious much
It should be made illegal to go in and grab land in the aftermath of a disaster !
'Build Back Better'=
DEWs and land grabs..bet Black Rock is behind the offers.
set up go fund me for the world to donate
set fires to buy cheap !
Vultures
Why is it disgusting? You need help, and they want the ruined property!
We need to look at PROGRESS for what it is.. the RICH get richer and REAL AMERICANS get pushed out. U tRUMPers need to wake up…
I agree 100%, realtors who are approaching desperate people and trying to take advantage of them is a DISGRACE. TELL THEM TO BUG OFF, I AM BEING POLITE! It is just appalling ! MAUI NEEDS ALOT MORE HELP !
Happened with NOLA folks after Katrina. Wouldn’t be surprised if wild fire was deliberately started for purpose of land grab.
Welcome to gentrification. It's happening everywhere that they could remotely inflate housing prices to profit while displacing regular people.
You let it burn to the ground.
The same thing happened in Haiti after the earth quake in 2010
Why did they sell Lanai Island to Larry Ellison for $300 million?
So you got an offer to sell your property? Cry more.
it is fargin unbelievable how people/companies have no sense of basic human decency
Help the elders for the governor not to roll over them. Yesterday he made them cry because he took their powers away. Have him prove the fire was "natural". Don't you think it's odd the governor knows it was a "natural disaster" without knowing the cause of the fire? Where's the logic. Would not work with my insurance agency! He says he has all the power now but I don't think so. The law is explicitly saying "natural disaster". I think he jumped a step to get ahead with his building plan…
