What a great question for the reporter
Based solely on the premise of news information, this is heartbreaking because his death could have been avoided. He felt in "his understanding" that he had the right to defend staying in his family "home." We as a society and community failed in helping him way before today's deadline eviction day.

Looks like the suspect fired an AK-47, or an AR-15, or a Beretta Automatic, or maybe even a modified M-14. Multiple weapons.
He even maybe had body armor to protect himself from being shot by police until they finally got him.
And I found out that he shot out one of the police drones! Maybe 2 or 3.
Why did this happen, served him what? He wasn’t going to give up his own home ~ they’ll never take me alive type moment……
