The United States Marine Corps confirmed that three Marines have died, and five others were seriously injured in an aircraft crash during a routine training exercise off Australia’s northern coast. NBC News’ Aaron Gilchrist has the details.

Osprey is a bad design. Unlike a helicopter or a fixed wing aircraft, osprey has no wings. If the engine stops it comes down like a stone. Engines are very likely to stop when shot at.

This actually happened 6 years ago. This happened 6 years ago in the exact same location. This time is getting reported on. I was stationed on the USS greenbay and we launched these v22 off the back flight deck. Wind anamoly occurrednduring the landing as the ship was rotating during the aircraft descent. The left propeller went wonky and it became a hpllywood movie scene in real time.
Exploded partially and fell off the deck. 3 ppl died. Except during then the operation was called something else.
Bruh, can they retire this aircraft already. Absolute death trap. rip to those marines.

Lives are more important than Ospreys! It's time to put the fancy toys away and take proactive measures in protecting our soldiers. The amount of soldiers that are dying from our training operations is ridiculous. According to the DOD, between 2006 and 2020 there were 5,605 soldiers who died during our trainings. I'm sorry but that is completely unacceptable.
The ole ospreys still at it. It's killed more of our pilots than the enemy has. Scrap it scrap the new one.
