I am a USMC vet, never was on an Osprey, but I remember when the Marines bought them, they were the darlings of the Marine Corps because they were VTOL tilt-wing craft that were big enough to carry a decent number of Marines and supplies into and out of a landing zone. The issue might be that they are getting old (like us Cold War vets).

As a Marine that has been on a few Ospreys, mainly in Afghanistan, it's my opinion that they need to remove this aircraft from service. It's probably one of the worst that I've been on and obviously has a long record of malfunctions. My condolences and love go out to the Marines and families involved, including the units taking part. We are all one huge family and the impacts on all of us can sometimes last decades or even a lifetime. Fair winds and following seas Marine. Til Valhalla! 0:15 0:17

very typical of ospreys. they should have been taken out of service years ago, this happens way too often
They need to take all of them type of aircraft out of service permanently
