For those that don’t know, and I don’t see any mention of it at Burning Man, Google has acquired the majority shares in Burning Man for 1. 2 billion dollars and that's why BM has a CEO. It has been slowly changing since its inception some 30 years ago into something other than the spiritually guided adventure. As in most cases where many people gather there is money to be made by those so inclined to take it. It takes money to just run the place, but it looks like a tidy profit has been made, rightly so, so that a few millionaires have been created as it captured the attention of Major Corporations. And that's how Capitalism works kiddies for all those at Burning Man who oppose this economic system. Ain't nothin' wrong with it but it sometimes changes the flavor from the original recipe. This is a unique adventure like no other, so let’s hope it will continue into the future and the rain gets banned, somehow.

What I learned in the early 90s is why it's called 'burning man'; when I looked up the ticket prices, I exclaimed, "They're tryin' to burn me, man!"…I first believed it was non-corporate, alternative freeform entertainment, not giving in to making money from overpriced tickets, but it's overhyped commercialism as well!,,,if I wanted to see something outlandish, the drive to the SF Bay area was short, and the sights were free

Judson Graham made a video over on his Youtube channel highlighting the ridiculousness of the "State National State Of Emergency". "Shelter In Place" and "State Of National Emergency" are basically being used as click-bait phrases.
Incidentally, the Fyre Festival is coming back and I view this as a delightful warm up.

People commenting about the CEO have probably never worked an event. You can't have that many people in one place without services, or some kind of organization, and you can't have those without some kind of staff, whether volunteer or paid. Paid staff is the best way to ensure people show up and do their jobs. You lose something or someone, who do you report it to? Where do you go for help if you need it? This isn't a family camping trip.

The Burning Man founders were NYC club kids. Creative, artistic, interesting and, sure, total fun. Doesn't mean they were ever qualified for running a huge, huge event. By the way, the ppm levels of dust and smoke? Odds have to be super strong that they are WAY beyond OSHA standards and definitely dangerous for anyone with any respiratory issues, or history of respiratory issues in the family. I guarantee you that there are folks who went to Burning Man who now have permanent asthma, because no one thought that folks breathing in desert dust 24/7 for a week straight was a problem. (PS – yeah, it is). Don't believe me…go ask a pulmonologist and see what they think (hint – it ain't gonna be good news). People and common sense parted ways a long time ago. Burning Man is an amazing, amazing idea…but you have to manifest that idea with safety. Safety = love for your brothers and sisters. Deserts having flash floods that produce mud problems? That is what happens in deserts and has been happening in deserts since deserts formed about 300 million years ago. And no one thought to prepare for that? All that would have been necessary was to construct a road out, that had proper drainage to handle flood problems should they occur.
