My family and I were vacationing in Lahaina arriving there on Sunday, August 6. Our AirBnb condo was located near Baby Beach. We woke up on Tuesday, August 8 to having no power. After calling the property manager we found out that the whole west Maui had no power due to downed power lines caused by the strong winds. There was NO mention of the early morning fire. When we went to get some breakfast around 8:15 AM, we saw a line of cars heading out east on Front Street. Still NO mention of fire. In fact, the Bakery in Lahaina that we went to, they too did not seemed concerned about anything other than the power outage. We came back to the condo and decided to go sightseeing and get lunch on the east side. We left the condo around 12:15 in the afternoon. Still NO indication that by then there were two fires burning. There was absolutely no alarm issued about the possible dangers of the fire spreading. Because we had absolutely no clue about the fires at all!
How did the fire start on the ground? So random & scary!

Leheina water was turned off as they said that the reason it was off was because they couldn't get this special permission from a nearby farmer where the water into Leheina is controlled 🤔 and that's why the fire hydrants were dry and no firetruck were able to put out the fire. Was this staged you think?
