146,000 employees in the United Auto Workers union could go on strike at the end of next week against the big three carmakers, Ford, GM and Stellantis if their demands are not met. NBC News’ Tom Costello has more on the potential impact on car prices.

Unions = Modern day mafia. 46% pay increase working 32 hours, but paid for 40? GTFOH with that crap.
If marry barra and the big wigs took a pay cut car prices would stay the same
But what about the car prices? Leave your glass tower and go live in the real world.
So glad Joe BRAGS all the time about how good he is with the Unions.
The executives make 29million salary per year. The employees demand a 32 hr work week ie they want a 3 day weekend. They all are selfish, self entitled ppl. Strike don't strike I couldn't care less.. I can't afford a auto loan anyway, have you seen the intrest rates? Thanks obiden and Unions for destroying the economy
32-hour work week and definite no-go
Just buy used vehicles – not new ones – People get financing on new vehicles and can't pay the monthly payment
Henry Ford made it possible for the people who make the cars to afford them. 32$ an hour to buy a 60k car is almost impossible. This needs to change.
0:55 most Auto Workers start out at $16 so you mean to tell me Toyota and Tesla only paying their employees federal minimum wage? Wow
They want a 46k a year pay increase and a 4 day work week 🤡🤣🤡🫵🏿
Can’t afford a new one now. About time these companies shared the billions they take in off the backs of their workers
What crap, car prices are already up. They upped the prices on the Blazer & Equinox EV already. The Blazer went up 9K for the RS EV! Yukon Denali is up 6K from last yr already
Toyota starts out at $21 a hr while gm starts out at $16.25…where y do we make $20 – 10 more at
Blame the big 3 if the would make a good deal this week there would be no strike. #IdontwanttostrikebutIwill

UAWSTRONG
How do the wages demanded by the UAW compare to the total compensation of executives at those same companies?
More jobs will go to Mexico. They’ll do it cheaper and work seven days a week bye Auto workers you become homeless
They've made 21 billion since January, and they've been stockpiling inventory in anticipation of a strike. If the big 3 tells you they need to raise costs because of the strike, they're lying to you plain and simple.
Someone tell them Tesla about to eat their lunch and dinner 🤣
This is a piece of propaganda for the auto industry. Those auto makers are advertisers on NBC. UAW had several others demands they “ forgot” to mention such as the elimination of tiers for workers and more PTO. This was disseminated on behalf of the auto industry to make the union workers seem lazy and selfish, hence the this could potentially increase auto prices.
Cocaine Joe Biden won't let the UAW strike……Just like he shafted the railroad workers earlier this year.
Some may deserve a pay hike but most are just too lazy and too greedy!!!
Wow this is so slanted reporting. You can sure tell your on the big business side . Must be the way your owner lets you report . I wonder do you make more then other reporters at other stations. You all seem to be in big business pocket. What a shame that you do no real neutral reporting anymore.
Talk about the record profits! talk about the auto companies creating this! they are the ones who made people strike through their behavior. It is not the workers fault that they must strike! your car prices will go up because the companies are greedy and treat their workers badly!
That's exactly how they want it Poor people build cars for rich folks No middle class.
Godammit. They are trying so hard to give the industry to Tesla!!
Easy way for car makers to save money? Stop using dealers and sell directly.
better get some inmates to start making license plates again
I hope they strike for a long time and they can find new jobs.
I bet it's going to be super easy to get a car loan but you won't be able to buy a car with the loan
Don't worry, the banks will fix it by raising interest rates!
My brother is a member of local 1628 one week before Christmas Stelantis told all Belvidere UAW employees the plant was shutting down permanently and the product they made went to Mexico. This was the second closing he went through when they shut down the Fenton plant after taking billions to retool in 2008 he and all UAW workers took pay cuts benefit cuts gave up cost of living raises and agreed to the tpt workers being told when the big 3 were out of bankruptcy and making profits again these issues would be resolved, well here it is in 2023 and the big 3 corporate elites are making billions in profits and buy backs of stock and again taking federal monies and tax cuts for the EVA now the CEOs are saying they can't afford what the workers rightly deserve and Stelantis is threatening to leave the country but they literally paid out profit sharing bonuses with literally 9 days of profit! My brother has 2 years to retire and he is so happy with UAW president Sean Fain who was voted in not hand picked by delegates. President Fain is not corrupt and our family stands in solidarity with the United Auto Workers 💪💪
