Never got a gun without a background check but I'm shocked. A good question was asked, how do you enforce such a law? She said police, really there not enough cops to police all the gun shows in the country. So lets get real, the problem is a person who can't get a gun because they are prohibited by law and does, faces very little jail time. The person who sold them the gun does even less! That has nothing to do with police, its our unwillingness to put people behind bars because we don't want mass incarceration! Get caught with a gun in England and see if you get probation!

It's time to draft a new amendment to enshrine public safety in the Constitution. Although ratification is a complex process, it would ensure that every state legislature would discuss gun safety and keep the issue front of mind until the carnage ends. Now it's empty thoughts and prayers, forget and do nothing until the next tragedy, rinse and repeat. Enough. Ten states already ban AR 15; what are the other states waiting for? Gun control works. Lowest gun death rates: Massachusetts, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island. Highest gun death rates: Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Alabama, Wyoming. Gun control works. 🗽

I believe that we should have regulated FFL's And universal background checks for all gun sales, however the BS that California and other states are pulling restricting the right of law abiding citizens from using and owning firearms is crazy!! with rosters, things you can't have on your firearm that do not change any function of the firearm is insane and people who make laws like that should be held liable and be able to jailed for making unconstitutional laws.
hopefully the republicans will do the same—closing the loophole on access to abortion pills, gender affirming care.
