The family of a New York man claims he was killed by his Peloton bike just six months after buying it, but the company insists that his own negligence caused his death, according to a lawsuit filed in state court. NBC News’ Marissa Parra reports.

Yes I feel sympathy for the parents but it's NOT the fault of the bike or Peloton! Lack of common sense was. You can't label everything to warn people not to do stupid things!
the bike is very stabilized to NOT fall over this isn't making sense didn't they say New York man, there you go, a small apartments 5000 dollars per month in New York, sounds to me it was self inflicted
I also have a peloton bike death story – I had to melt it down after this because I just couldn't stand to look at it. Damned peloton bike stole my car, drove to the store and bought a gun and came back and slaughtered my whole family! peloton bikes are sentient people! be warned! (sarcasm for anyone that missed it)
That treadmill is obviously very dangerous and since its malfunctioning and now we know don't buy it,simple!

The first incident sounds like a freak accident.

I hate families like this…accept it…he’s gone…move on. It’s an accident.
I don't think their should be a case unless they can show the bike is excessively dangerous. For example you can die in a car accident, but to sue the automaker successfully you would need to show that the air bag malfunctioned, the seat belt didn't work, they auto maker chose not to include an active stability mechanism that was commonplace at the time of manufacture, used defective materials ect. What about the bike made it more likely for this guy to die than every other exercise bike? Was it getting off the bike as part of the workout and doe s having him do that constitute negligence on Pelotons part?

This is tragic…however… no different than if he would have grabbed a handle on on chest of drawers and it toppled over…or the edge of a bookcase…a full sized adult man relying on a stationary object not bolted to the floor to pull them up from the floor is taking a big risk. Very sad and untimely death for that man…but I don’t think it’s a Peloton issue.

I'm sorry but it's a piece of equipment. It's up to the owner to keep the kids away from EQUIPMENT. not the company. This case, we aren't being told who or what failed.
