Top cricket teams in the world has multiple in form & aggressive wicket keeper batsmen..England has J. bairstow & J. buttler, India has Ishan kishan & K. rahul, New Zealand has D. conway, Tom latham & M. chapman, Pakistan has M. rizwan & Imam ul haque..Those players are so good with bat that their teams are picking 2 wicket keepers in their playing xi..But look at five time odi wc champion Australia, it's really disappointing & extremely surprising..over the years while other teams tried to find more promising wk batsmen, australian selectors always preferred only A. carey despite his poor batting performances..He is neither a class batsman nor a power hitter..They even played a lot of series without any backup wicket keeper in their squad under coach Langer..Surprisingly, it's not that they didn't have talented wicket keepers in their domestic leagues..In last 5 years skillful players like Peter handscomb, Ben macdermott, Josh inglis, Josh philippe played some eye catching performances in australian domestic circuit..They were consistent run scorer's in domestic leagues but National team coaches & selectors always ignored them and preferred only one despite his struggles with bat..As a result australia's batting middle order became extremely vulnerable..On the other hand talented batsman like P. handscomb, B. macdermott are lost, recent years consistent performers Josh inglis & Josh philippe are not getting enough chances in the national team..Thus australia heading to this world cup with a completely out of form & imbalanced wk batsman & a talented but inexperienced backup wicket keeper
