I hope all three auto companies employees get what they want! back when I started Detroit Diesel in 1998 I had a 15 week course that I had to go through and Weren’t pay for to be hired and they told us we would be at full rate and Pension and cola pay and like with the rest of the employees but what happen is the new contract was done just before they hired us and we went in at a lower rate of $12 an hour instead of almost $16 an hour and no cola pay and no pension which the older employees got so we had tier 2 for 13 years (most employees didn’t care about us! only them shelf’s) we had to wait to go to full rate with our co-workers so that’s a kick in the butt that Detroit Diesel put us through. Class that finish week before us finished 15 weeks got hired under tier one 7 months before us and we were put in pool till they could hire us after employees voted 80%! before contract in Oct 4th. so I’m pulling for you you big three auto workers and the sad thing is we had a sucky union they sold out and 80% of employees voted for it and took away pension insurance after we retired just for us new employees…
This union is fighting for all of our welfare!
Strike do it it the usa do it
I stand with the Union and the Auto Workers hold a very special place in my heart my uncle was auto worker. Spent 40 years at a plant in Ohio.. im behind these folks 1000 percent!!!
You are insulting me by asking for 46% raise!
These auto workers aren’t even skilled they literally out part a into part b anyone can do their job with minimal training they want to be paid better than nurses or engineers who study 4 years and are liable
More jobs going overseas the fall of the unions
Wages go up,price of product goes up. Can’t afford the product, need raise. Wages go up….
They want LIEden to do more 😴🤣 well that's actually up to OBAMA.🌈
32 hr of work and get paid for 40 hrs, on top of 46% increase. that math doesnt add up.
why arent they fighting to keep high margin vehicle to be built in the US and not in mexico.
Unions are driving all businesses overseas hope your happy
You know all those young m en Joe Biden has let in ? They are your replacements amigos !
Everyone needs to strike until democrats resign from all government offices .
This is another reason REPARATIONS are due immediately to ADOCS/FBA/OBA/FREEDMEN🫶🏽🖤1
They’ll back down when they’re family is starving an can’t keep up on there monthly bills
Why would u blame Bidendue 2 your situation your choice😮
I hope it goes on strike
Compounded inflation is at 18% over last 4 years..add that with expected 2 to 3% per year over the next 4 years and youre looking at 26-30% inflation. And they say were greedy for asking for 40% lol..anything less then 30% and no cola and you only break even
Who cares send those jobs to Mexico the prices on automobiles in the USA the last 10 years has become ridiculous. Many recalls and many defects in manufacturing and engineering from the Big 3 . The UAW says we want more money and vacation time sh** learn how to build automobiles first.💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Should've demanded a 100% raise….and all the trimmings…..including the Turkey.
Maybe them CEO's can drink BudLight as a reminder
Lost everything I had forced to move across the country with a pay cut now im 900 miles aways from my kids and don't know when my life will be normal again. Thanks biden!
Dictator Biden will stop this strike before it starts.
Don't forget the union demands of a 32 hr work week but paid for 40 . . . . .
❣️🇺🇲🗡️❣️🇺🇲🗡️❣️🇺🇲🗡️🙏⚡👄💞🌈👑 AND VOTE CORNEL WEST FOR PRESIDENT 2024‼️‼️‼️‼️
Why do these UAW workers never mention the $$$ thousands of dollars they've been getting in profit sharing checks the last 3 years?
Too many spoiled, lazy and greedy American workers…. Replace them with foreign workers!!!
They are going to lose more jobs to Mexico. They work seven days a week less wage. No bonuses no vacations. More jobs go to Mexico adios amigo
US cars haven''t been that great anyway—-so not a big loss if one goes out of business. We have over 15 car companies that will take up the slack.
Unions remind corporations that everyone deserves a livable wage 🇺🇲
EVs caused all of these problems.
They're making obscene profits without the quality. We bailed their butts out while we lost our homes in 2008.There's no loyalty or support for workers. They'll move to Mexico before being loyal.
Can no one see the writing on the wall, everything's about to come crashing down…peice by peice
No more $110,000 diesel wasters? Absolute junk.
I found this in a comment somewhere.
"My pay per hour as skilled trades in 2006 was at $34 per hour.
adjusted for inflation that would be $52 per hour today.
at my current rate of $37 per hour I have taken a 30% pay cut.
In 2006 CEO Rick Wagoner was paid $9.57M, adjusted for inflation that is $14.5M.
Mary Barra makes $29.1M. 3 times more than the amount Wagoner was paid in 2006. if I were to triple my pay,
My hourly pay would be $111 per hour if it was adjusted at the same rate as Barra's."
General Motors Chair and CEO Mary Barra got a raise and remains the highest paid CEO of the Detroit Three automakers.
In fact, all of GM's top officers saw big increases in compensation last year.
But the median pay for all GM employees declined in 2021 compared with 2020, largely due to parts shortages disrupting production and resulting in some workers losing hours or being temporarily laid off.
20 years ago an autoworker could afford what they were producing. that is no longer the case.
