Authorities say at least six people, including three children, died after a freight train crashed into an SUV near a railroad crossing in Plant City, Florida. WFLA’s Nicole Rogers reports.

The RR crossing was clearly marked. If you have a drivers license, you take RESPONSIBILITY for the car, those in it, and pay attention to highway and railroad signs. If you "don't" have a drivers license, it's still on you. Put the blame where it belongs – on the driver to decided to take the chance.

Unless there was just an unfortunate car malfunction, my bet is the driver was either way too distracted or under the influence. Condolences to the extended family and loved ones. What a tragedy.

A train at the speed of 55 mph can be avoided if you are at a safe distance. How close was this train and car before collision? Also there should absolutely be guardrails and signals at EVERY crossing. If the driver slowed down is because he probably felt the tracks beneath him but completely missed the train that came out of nowhere. Rest in peace to the families involved.
I'd say that Hillsboro needs to take Bidens infrastructure money and fix their RR crossings.

The correct way of saying this story is "the SUV ignored the stop sign and tried crossing the tracks in front of an oncoming train – and lost."
