I had awful math teachers in elementary- high school that literally did not care if someone was understanding of the material or not. I felt very discouraged and dumb but ended up going to a community college and had professors there that actually cared to help me learn. If you're feeling this same way don't give up or feel less than anything. The world in 2023 is automated beyond understanding and most math for many businesses run on calculations that are pre-set on excel spreadsheets.

They aren’t teaching reading with the correct methods either. At the start of the school year they give them a list of 100 words and say learn them. They don’t give them easy to read starter books like I had and they would give them a single sheet of newspaper printed with some reading but not much and 4 little addition problems like 2 + 2 and 2 + 3. They weren’t given any books not reading text books or any workbooks. During the school closure the teacher would talk to them but didn’t teach anything they just asked them how they felt.we are homeschooling now. Reading needs to be taught by the Phonics method so you can sound out words. I was taught with phonics in the 50’s and my children were taught with the phonics method now they just want them to memorize every word. That doesn’t work, I still will sound out large words to figure out how to spell them or say them. There isn’t and discipline in the classrooms now. I wrote plenty of rules when I was a kid, like “ I will not talk in class.” 200 hundred times. My granddaughter complained that the teacher either couldn’t be heard because the kids were too loud or she only was looking at her computer. The schools are so destroyed and the teachers are just babysitters not teachers. The kids have serious discipline problems. One boy in her class was so mean and dangerous he had two women who were supposed to watch him full time so he wouldn’t hurt anybody else but he constantly attacked other children. The first day my granddaughter went to preschool she walked in a playhouse and a little boy punched her in the face. Another boy told her everyday that he was going to cut her head off. She was terrified. That boys mother was a hair stylist and she gave herself and her son hairstyles that looked like a flame of fire dyed with 3 colors yellow, orange and red style into a point. I thought maybe she worshipped the opposite of us and this was a Church Preschool. I realize I’m 76 years old but people certainly don’t teach their children the values that I teach.
I had to read the encyclopedia to learn anything, finished it 8th grade.
