America getting Dumber
Hey, listen I got woken up at six a m and had to do five days since I was born
We already pay 3k in school taxes so they'd better take every day
None of this take a day off crap
What about a four day work week for parents and caregivers and still have enough money for bills. That possible?
As I've had it explained to me by a parent, this is a BAD idea. Parents NEED 5 day school weeks because the parents WORK 5 day work weeks if parents have to work when the child has a day off who will watch the child?
boooooo make them kids go all week like we did
I do think this is beneficial but if parents are working 5 days a week is this helpful. Also with younger children we already hear about the rising cost of daycare. Sounds like a catch 22.
primary/secondary school, simply have always just been a very expensive daycare
So in other words, if parents can't give full participation students fail
A 4 day school week is a good thing overall and I hope humans as a species move towards less time in a school building and less time in offices in general. Life is for living and much of learning takes place during life and outside of the classroom anyway. HOWEVER, if things are not planned and prepared for properly, then it can be disastrous.
So teachers do less, but who will pick up the bill for daycare while parents are at work?
I believe it would benefit children actually, i know mine come home overwhelmed

Work weeks should only be 4 days long across the board. We need that 5th day to do personal work at home like cleaning and doing errands etc. it’s a different type of work but needs to be done and 2 days on the weekend is just not enough
People who are sending their children to private school are defunding the public school system.
Plus, idle hands to the devil’s work. Crime will escalate as parents work and teens roam around free.
