WGA leaders vote to pass agreement to end strike

The WGA voted unanimously to recommend the agreement they reached and it now awaits approval from 11,500 union members. Writers said they believe union leadership would only send them a deal they would likely vote on.

  1. Whatever they got was paid for by thousands of production crew members and their families who are unrepresented in this strike and have lost their livelihoods. Writers are going back to work while we don’t even have our old 12 hour work day “gig to gig” jobs to go back to. So yay we won?

  2. Yes, I'm for the WRITERS, but I'm also for the THEATER WORKERS!
Strikers, also mention that theater workers who sell the tickets, get the lowest wages and benefits allowed by law

Musicians join them! Three Labels, the Big Three Labels control music, and no hits, no new stars, loss of sales. 1% of musicians make 90% of streaming money. Look at connections to film. Warner, Universal, Sony.

Have you ever read a story on low wages that mentioned Theater Workers – and by doing so anger Hollywood that brags about how many millions they made this weekend? Me neither. they should. They are forced to work part-time so they're paid the lowest wages and benefits allowed by law. Hollywood looks glamorous but they are just as bad as Walmart or fast food, and the media is scared to talk about it.

  3. That's awesome!!…and yeah, I think the writers and actors should also be allowed to create their own AI generated characters with their faces and specify this on their contracts that the characters belong to them legally so everytime they use them on screen they should be entitled to royalties for life, just as if they were doing the shooting of a film when in reality they're just programming their computer persona to do all the scenes….they should get paid even without doing the physical work…instead of just the CEOs getting paid for using their image.

  4. And now these talentless hacks can resume destroying the world's stories, classics, books, tales, myths, histories and cultural heritages.
It was such a peaceful and serene 5 months. Gutted they stopped striking (no not really because the studios will just go overseas and within three years 60% of these pretenders will be purged from the movie industry)

  5. WGA is lame, they had so much time to come up with a good plan, yet they waited and only reacted until the studio big heads push out last warnings. WGA is as bureaucrat as any other government organisation

  6. All entertainers better make sure they're up on their rights under intellectual property law.

  7. Good! Those late night comedians are the best liberal propagandists we have.

  8. cassidy hutchinson my jealous drunk driving sister what did you walk thru sweetie , nothing you rode in on ykur daddys cop badge ate

  9. officer blake badge number 0170 will be charged with excessive force and abuse of power

  10. Once the Writers Clear these Important Hurdles, they can NOW use their Genius and Creativity to Tackle REAL ISSUES like Republican Fascism and Dismantling D.Trump's Illegal Clown Campaign

  11. This is awesome. Let’s keep the ball rolling. Strengthen all the unions. Actors, artists, to all exploited workers across all industries. Union strong!

  12. NFL football must partner with WGA and SAG AFTRA now and Strike new deals.

  13. One strike back, two more to go. Government and Sag

  14. "You can't get rich by demand "—Jim Rohn

  15. Good to hear! Took studios almost 6mos and maybe $4B. Can’t fix stupid!

  16. Now I can get back to my Gilligan's Island reruns.

  17. Now how does NBC stay on with a WGA strike?

  18. Things I don’t care about for $1000

  19. my life was completely unchanged. what these ppl write is filth anyway.

  20. Now we just need the actors to reach an agreement

  21. Thank God, we can move on from reruns and reality tv.

  22. I knew this strike would play out in the union's favor. Without the writers, the production companies have nothing, and advertisers aren't going to pay top-dollar for reality TV and game shows. Plus, the holiday season's coming up–the studios and networks can't afford to show up with nothing to put under the Christmas tree.

  23. Yay jimmy kimmel is back.
