I carry Naloxone kits with me in Calgary, Alberta. Our pharmacies hand them out for free. If I see a person who may be able to use it, or may know someone who needs it, I give the kit to them. The kit has three vials and needles. Worst case scenario — the person gets a clean needle.
To be safe New Yorkers now have to holster a 9MM and Narcan.

Look, addicts willing to risk death to get high waste their lives, break laws, steal to fund their drug habit.
Natural consequences of their self destructive acts is self destruction.
We have over 8 billion people, a dying planet due to too many of us trashing it up, dying species going extinct every year.
What needs focus regarding drug addicts is proper, reliable, immediately available psychiatric facilities to place all people who need this help. Addiction is a symptom, often is self medicating initially, because immediately available and competent mental health care is not present.
Focus on that.
Don't focus on increasing sales and profits for drug companies that make Narcan.
In Oklahoma, we have a program that has Narcan in vending machines to make it more visable and more natural to access and educate. New York could perhaps use the model Oklahoma is working on.

I don't have $45 to waste on a junkie that just going to OD again tomorrow. Let the cities keep wasting their money saving these useless street addicts. I work hard for the little i have and every gov't entity is spending billions on junkies and illegal aliens, i cant even qualify for some food stamps.
