Another person on another thread suggested the Democrats probably refused McCarthy because they thought he would come back and offer more to the Dems to save himself…. but instead McCarthy allowed the vote to proceed and lost the speakership …. and that would make McCarthy a hero in my book. The 8 who voted against McCarthy claim that promises were broken. One thing is for sure …. there are $33 trillion reasons to turn off the wasteful spending tap…. and until we get a lot of seats to turn Republican, the nation will continue on a path to economic collapse and likely hyperinflation. We need Kudloe and Laffer and others to lay out a high level overview of the Democrat spending and how that would most likely turn out in 5 years….and in 10 years…. and how citizens will be impacted. One financial channel says that in addition to the $33 trillion debt there is nearly $190 trillion of unfunded liabilities in the coming decades…. for things congress has already passed. With only $4 trillion in annual revenue and $6-$7 trillion in annual spending AND already in excess of $1 trillion annual interest payable to avoid default on the $33 trillion…… how are the DC swamp rats intending to get back to solvency ? Printing $40 trillion and debasing the US dollar value is the only solution anyone has come up with because that is what all governments have always done …. and hyperinflation results and the middle and lower class citizens become impoverished and desperate because the prices rise to levels beyond their ability to pay the rent and buy food and other essentials. Policies have to be radically changed soon to avoid stepping over the edge and going into economic free fall. We are on an unsustainable path. If it takes Gaetz stepping out of party lines to focus DC on economic issues then so be it. Better than trying to negotiate with Dems and letting the reckless spending continue.
